This joiner is suitable for any 1/2" OD line or stem. Great for a push-fit way to splice two lines, or to connect a 1/2" OD line to a 1/2" OD male stem.
 
These John Guest fittings are manufactured using grey acetal copolymer and fitted with a food grade Nitrile O-Ring, making them especially suitable for applications involving foodstuffs and potable liquids (including beer, ciders, wines, you name it!) They are equally suitable for air and inert gases and can be used on N₂/CO₂ mixed gas dispense lines, pneumatic and vacuum applications.
 
Cleaners and Sanitising of Fittings
The external surfaces of John Guest products must not come into contact with oxidising or acidic cleaners and sanitising agents, for example (but not limited to), those below pH 4, high in sodium hypochlorite level (bleach), or containing hydrogen peroxide.
 
To sanitise the internal surfaces of fluid systems you can use sodium hypochlorite, hydrogen peroxide, chlorine dioxide, or ozone. To avoid unnecessary early failure, John Guest requires that the disinfection solution must be immediately flushed out at all draw off points with fresh water at the end of the disinfection period. The solution must not be left in the system. Disinfection solutions must only come into contact with the internal (fluid carrying) surfaces of the system. 
 
How to use:
To make a connection, the tube is simply pushed in by hand; the unique patented John Guest collet locking system then holds the tube firmly in place without deforming it or restricting flow. The Collet (gripper) has stainless steel teeth which hold the pipe firmly in position, while the O-Ring provides a permanent leakproof seal.
 
It's important to cut your hosing straight, not on an angle, to ensure the line has a complete seal - we highly recommend grabbing an inexpensive Tube / Line Cutter for the job. Ensure that the tubing is free of burrs to avoid damaging the O-ring.
 
To connect push the tubing in until it hits the pipe-stop. Pull back on the tubing to check that it’s secure.
 
To detach the fitting simply push in the collet and remove the hose. Easy as!
